Lunch by a vertical garden in the Hotel Icon

Lunch by a vertical garden in the Hotel Icon
It may sound strange but it’s true! We’d heard about the Hotel Icon before, in particular its vegetal wall so we thought it was worth the detour. Head for Kowloon, Science Museum Road to see what it’s all about and test the food. The verdict: we love it ! The entrance and the Green restaurant form a giant open space, which enables you to breathe more freely, in plenty of space. The vertical garden designed by Patrick Blanc can’t be missed. The large spiral staircase adds just that trendy touch of modern design that we like. We therefore sat down at one of Green’s tables. There we were able to appreciate the space that was allocated to each table that gives you that little bit or even a lot of extra privacy! We opted for the set lunch. Tomato and mozzarella salad, a pumpkin risotto with lobster for one of us and salmon with an assortment of veggies for the other. Everything was absolutely perfect. There was nothing to complain about! We couldn’t resist it when we saw the selection of cupcakes. For a supplement of HKD20 you can taste one of the delicious cakes. Lemon / poppy seeds, apricot / mango, apple, chocolate, bilberries etc, etc. There was an extensive choice of flavours. We went for the lemon and poppy seed one. Yummy yummy. Incredible! It’s worth crossing the harbour for lunch, HK Island ladies! And for those of you who live on Kowloon side, how come you’ve not been there yet!!!?
