There is a life after modelling and Amanda Strang has chosen to get involved in the sweet side of it! As Paris is the capital of gastronomy, she travelled there to study with the chocolate maker Jacques Genin then Ladurée. The result: her patisseries are to die for, her brioche is exquisite and her bread is just the way we like it! She puts her heart to the task and you can tell. If you don’t believe us, go and check out her counter on the second floor of the IFC (close to the Apple Store) Amanda Strang will welcome you in person with a smile. You will be able to taste her recipes on the spot or take them back to be leisurely sampled at home. If you go there at lunch time, taste one of her tartines. Smoked salmon on brioche or ham & cheese on bread, depending on your mood of the day. For the sweet course, we’d recommend the mille-feuilles. The cream pastry is light, smooth and full of flavour. Delicious! We are also fans of Amanda’s chocolate tart. Absolutely fabulous! Yummy, just the fact of talking about it makes us feel like eating it all over again! And whilst you’re there, why not pick up a baguette? They taste like the best thing on earth since sliced bread!
