In Hong Kong, when it comes to hotel’s all-you-can-eat buffets, we can say there is plenty of choice. With or without a view, with or without a terrace, with or without seafood, with or without kids offers and often without any surprise.
At Big Bay Café, the newborn of this category, it’s 5 times “with”.
With a view: amazing, the Harbour and HK Island, days and nights, we never grow tired of it.
With a terrace: under the sun or the shadow, and still with this wonderful view.
With seafood: fresh on ice, grilled, stir-fried, raw or cooked. You can try them all.
With a desserts station for kids (can I say adults as well): cut fruits, candies, ice-creams, they can mix, innovate and have fun. Baby chairs and space for strollers make the parents happy as well.
Talking about space, we can’t complain, the venue is huge, airy and bright.
Wood, plants are everywhere, various breads are sitting in their wicker baskets, cast-iron pots and copper pans remind us hearty meals during family dinners. The atmosphere is warm, peaceful and very modern at the same time.
What about the buffet? Big appetite will think it’s paradise. Foodies and connoisseurs as well. Several stations are spread from one side of the room to the opposite, but not like the usual too-big lunch buffets which make us think of an orgy. Each station shows one method of cooking. Grill, cocottes, soups, sushis, stir-fried…without forgetting the salad bar, cheese bar, seafood, cold cuts. Everything is prepared gradually, so always very fresh. You can even make our own Korean Bibimpap or noodle soup. A vinegar bar offers more than 10 different dressings.
