It feels like a real break. Possibly a stop-over in India. And yet you are well and truly still in Hong Kong. Wyndham Street to be more precise. The restaurant Bombay Dreams welcomes its guests to warm, cosy, comfy and chic surroundings. We liked the benches and the big velvet cushions that entice you to lie down on them! But you know how to behave so you don’t! In any case, the show from the kitchen will keep you awake! You’ll get to learn how to make a nan, but more importantly how it is cooked! We won’t say any more on that topic… Let’s talk flavours now. Soft and subtle, spicy and scented or burning and explosive. To be honest we just took wild guesses when it came to ordering – the names didn’t ring a bell. As we couldn’t spot our usual “butter chicken” we decided to be daring and taste new dishes. So…? As a starter we went for the chicken salad “Murgh Chaat” - which although quite spicy was absolutely mouthwatering. The main courses were just as heavenly. We tried the “Murgh Tikka Peshawar” (chicken subtly scented with lemon and a small emulsion), the “non vegetarian Chef’s Platter” (assortment of grilled meats and fish) and the “Murgh Korma Awadhai” (chicken or lamb in a rich sauce). Trying to resist indulging in the different types of nans is simply out of the question: plain, garlic and cheese. Pure happiness!
