Hola chiquitas! Hong Kong has been so cold lately, all I could think about was staying warm and pretending summer was not that far away. In my quest to sun, heat and summer, I found this very caliente place: Picada and thought I should definitely share a little bit of latin vibes with you.

At Picada, everything starts with a cocktail. But ain’t no cocktail without food to share, don’t you think? I am definitely keen on trying some latin bites. Let’s order some food para picar!
A chat and a shot with the bar-tenders later (not my fault! He told me it is a tradition and I have to do it), I am more than ready to try the beef empanadas that just landed on my table. The meat inside the empenadas is really good! Like hot and melty, very very pornfood. Same thing with the beef arepas rellenas. Ouah que calor! I can definitely feel the hot latin vibes.

And now, I want something different, something I have never try before. Let’s ask the friendly staff. Guys, I want to be surprised!

Have you ever tried Sancocho? No? Me neither! And for a surprised this is one. Sancocho is a traditional South American stew made with chicken, beef, pork, potato, yuca, vegetables and served with rice and arepas. Does not look very appealing at first sight but it is hot, it is tasty and so filling. This dish tastes so authentic, something that is not that common in Hong Kong. I feel like a real gaucho!

From now on, when I will be looking for latin vibes and latin bites, I’ll ask for nada mas que Picada (nothing more than Picada)!
