March is a month of culinary delight for Hong Kong foodies! While we eagerly anticipate the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 announcement on the 26th, today 14 March was a Michelin Guide affair. While attending the ceremony in Macau, I witnessed proud chefs claiming their stars and celebrated the newcomers to the prestigious list.
This year again, three individual are being recognised for their contribution to the local dining scene: Sommelier Award: Shinya Goshima of Godenya Service Award: Lydia Yung of The Legacy House Young Chef Award: Chef Choi Ming Fai of Mora
Exciting highlights include the elevation of Noi at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong to 'excellent cuisine worth a detour,' now boasting Two Michelin Stars.
And let's hear it for the Frenchies! Racines and Feuille (where I recently savoured exceptional meals), and Cristal Room by Anne-Sophie Pic clinched their first star, with special recognition to Chef Joris Rousseau at Feuille, honoured with a Michelin Green Star for his commitment to sustainable practices. Joining the ranks of newly-minted Hong Kong venues are Mora and The Legacy House.
