The 3 reasons why you need to plan a ski escape in China

If someone has ever told me my first ski trip in Asia would be in China I wouldn’t have believe it! But yet in China I was, few days ago, to discover Club Med’s latest ski resort in Beidahu. And here are the top 3 reasons why you should definitely book you next family’s holidays there!

1. Skiing in China is actually pretty cool!

Ok let’s face it, we are all very posh when it comes to ski! There are two kinds of posh skiers, the “nowhere else in the world can you find a snow that is as good and as pure than in the French Alpes” ones (I must confess, I might be that kinda person … I am French after all) and the “once you have skied in japan, you’ll never be able to ski somewhere else in the world” ones. Well. Let’s drop the posh attitude because skiing in China is a super cool experience!
Getting in Beidahu from Hong Kong was actually pretty easy for me. 4.30 hours of plane and 1.30 hour of car, a little long yes but hey hitting the slopes is something you got to deserve! The ski domain is not huge but was big enough for me not to get bored. And the landscape is quite beautiful!
And ticking “skiing in China” on your bucket list is way more exotic than “skiing in France”!

2. They’ll keep your kids entertained while you ski. Or rest. Or both!

A great plus of Club Med ski resorts, everywhere in the world, is the unique partnerships with ESF (Ecole de Ski Française – French Ski School), the world most famous ski school. Your kids will learn from the best instructors, pass levels that are internationally renowned and make new friends in the group lessons.
You wanna try the group classes too? No problem, actually I definitely recommend it! Whether you are already a good skier or just a beginner, the experience is just a big shot of fun!
And for the kids that are too young to ski, or not eager to spend the whole day on the white slopes, the movie wonderland inspired kids club is the perfect retreat. For kids from 2 to 11.
The kinda perfect family holidays where everyone can do what he really wants without annoying the other so that at the end of the day the all family is super happy to be reunited.

3. This is the most convenient ski place I have ever visited

You have absolutely everything in the same place! 176 rooms, a Spa, fitness facilities, GOs that will keep you entertained with both inside and outside activities, daytime and nighttime festivities …
You do not have a full equipment? No worries, you can rent what you are missing from the boutique: jacket, pants, googles, gloves.
You hate carrying you ski from the hotel to the slopes or are afraid you might wanna go back to the hotel before the rest of the group? No worries, it is going to be super easy. The hotel is just a 3 min walk from the ski hall (there is even a buggy to bring you there if you are super super lazy) where you store your ski and the ski hall is exactly right at the bottom of the slopes. You enter by one side, open your locker, put your ski shoes on, get you skis, get out of the ski all by the other side and here you are ready to hit the slopes! How convenient?
And of courses, you have food. One does not want to be starved on the slopes, definitely not!
If you have been to any Club med in the world, you already know about the signature buffet. The kinda one with endless possibilities!
And because there is no proper ski holidays without a fondue night, I definitely recommend a stop at the specialty restaurant for a Hot Pot. Not the usual ski fondue but still a very comforting and tasty dish.

Will you tick “skiing in China” on your own bucket list?
