Pacific Place is clearly the place to be to try new restaurants!
So Dim Sum Library… From the outdoor, you will be attracted by this new dim sum place. It’s so eye-catching - this long cocktail bar with seal chairs, the cozy atmosphere and the art-deco boudoir style.
The Dim Sum Library is the new baby of the renowned Aqua Group – they have restaurants (including the famous Hutong) but also the typical red junk, Aqua Luna.
Start with a cocktail and make sure you are ready to travel. I really felt I was away from the mall; the atmosphere is typically what you should expect in a “Dim Sum Library”, a real homage to yum cha tradition.
The space is divided in two dining areas. You may be surprise to see how big it is… more than 350 square meters. There are two mahjong tables in the second dining zone. It looks like a private club, it’s amazing.
And can we talk about the impressive lightings? Can I say I want the same at home?
The “library menu” features traditional Chinese recipes with a contemporary twist at an affordable price.
I have followed the chef’s recommendation to discover the typical cuisine including: Black truffle har gau shrimp dumplings (HK$48 for 3pcs) Black garlic siu mai pork dumplings (HK$48 for 4 pcs) Hokkaido king crab & sea urching spring rolls (HK$88 for 4 pcs) Wagyu beef puff with black pepper (HK$88 for 3pcs) Dan dan xiaolong bao (HK$48 for 3pcs) Crispy aubergine tossed with salted fish & Chinese chives (HK$108) Lava mango rolls coated with roasted almond (HK$48 for 3 pcs) Tofu panna cotta (HK$42) The dumplings are fantastic and especially the truffle ones but do not miss the traditional dan dan xialong bao as well.
A must try is the crispy aubergine – just amazing!
The tofu panna cotta at the end is as yummy as surprising.
The Dim Sum Library is open all day and it’s definitely the right place for dim sum aficionados, to take guests or to sit for a cocktails and dim sum after a (long) shopping session. Zara is 2 minutes from it! ;)
