Celebrating clean, sustainable, and ethical skincare made in Europe

Words by Aude Camus

The beauty industry is abuzz with Asian beauty brands these days, from viral Korean trends like glass skin to ancient practices like Gua Sha making a comeback. I’ll be honest - I’ve been swept up in a few of these trends myself. But time and time again, I find myself returning to something simpler, more natural - something that feels effortlessly chic, like the beauty philosophy I grew up with as a French girl.

That said, finding clean European skincare brands in Hong Kong isn’t always easy. Here, it’s all about magic serums and instant effects, whereas I prefer a routine that works for the long haul. I’m constantly looking for products that avoid the nasties and deliver positive, long-term results. I used to stock up on my favourites every time I flew back to France, but that all changed when I stumbled upon The Organic Store. Imagine my excitement when I saw they carried brands I love, plus a few new ones I can’t wait to try!

Launched in 2020, The Organic Store is an online shop dedicated to showcasing sustainable, clean, and ethical skincare brands. Each product is lovingly handpicked by founder Angie Poon. If you're into European skincare, you might recognize cult favourites like the iconic Dr. Hauschka (a natural skincare pioneer since 1967), Nuud Deodorant (all over Instagram!), and Manucurist Paris, known for their 84% plant-based nail polishes. Whether you’re shopping for yourself, your partner, your baby, or targeting specific concerns like aging or sensitive skin, there’s something for everyone. I especially love being able to search by ingredients - think aloe vera for hydration, hyaluronic acid for a plumper look, or peptides to boost overall skin health. And the best part? Everything is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and up to European standards.

Fourth Anniversary Special

To celebrate their 4th anniversary, The Organic Store is hosting a pop-up at 52 GAGE (52 Gage Street, Central). You’re invited to join the party, explore a selection of their bestsellers, and get an intro to the Manucurist Green Flash collection- a gel manicure you can DIY at home, minus the harmful chemicals.
