Become the beaches’ very own Mrs Muscle! And not in the body building sense! Embark on a mission to track down the waste that pollutes our shores! Over and above the esthetical aspect – of course, we’d prefer to chit chat on a clean beach and dip our toes in transparent waters – you should also know that you’ll be helping to preserve marine life. You don’t need specific competencies; you just need to feel like taking part in this environmental project, that’s all! So gather a few girlfriends or colleagues and roll up your sleeves to save the planet! You can choose the beach that you’d like to clean amongst Hong Kong’s 90 beaches and contact EcoVision Asia to let them know about your initiative and your findings. It will all be recorded in the 2012 annual report. Note that you could come across everything and anything: SIM cards, toilet seats, headphones, polystyrene and of course plastic bags and bottles. Each year, EcoVision Asia organises the International Coastal Cleanup Challenge. The last one ended a few weeks ago. The 2012 challenge will start in September of next year. If you want to shine in this competition, get some training beforehand and organise lots of beach clean-ups before then!
