I know, we have been all about staycation lately but hey, who does not need a nice city escape, even for 1 night, sometimes? I do! Summer is coming and treating myself to an afternoon by the pool is definitely something I am up for! And if you’re not the staycation type, mark down this article, who knows families and friends might need a nice hotel when visiting you and this one is crazy damn nice!
Sunday morning, crossing the harbor and getting myself into busy Mongkok. Heading off to Cordis at Langham Place. Cordis means heart in Latin, an hotel all dedicated to wellbeing … I am up for that too!
If I can give you one great tip, go for a Club Room (or a suite, but that’s another thing). It will give you access to the Club Lounge: personalized check-in and check-out and not stress of queuing at the reception, food all day long and you know I love food, Champagne cocktail at night, wine and sweet treats after diner … I am not lying when telling you I spent pretty much my whole Sunday evening and Monday morning just there, seating on a very cool swing chairs, facing the crazy view and just loving being there. Sunset at the lounge, in a swing chair, with a champagne glass is a must!
Well, of course I did not spend all the time there. You know me, I have been running all over the hotel to see and try as many things as possible. "See", because Cordis hosts a crazy collection of Chinese contemporary art! "Try" well I have been doing my best: jumping on my bed in my studio room with the best city view I ever had / napping in a hot bath / singing in the beautiful shower while trying on all the beauty products / laying by the pool and sunbathing, diving and sunbathing again before ordering a club sandwich because you know, sunbathing is exhausting / tea-timing (yes, that’s a verb) at the Club Lounge / Dining at Alibi - Wine Dine be Social and having lunch there again the next day because that is just too good … I had the most fluffy and yummy gnocchis ever!
Tough staycation, right?
What I loved the most? Hard to say! The room was beautiful, the service is just absolutely perfect and the staff, particularly from the lounge, was friendly and lovely, Alibi is a cool restaurant and the pool is just the perfect oasis I was looking for on such a sunny day! Really, nothing bad to say, not a single thing … Well, ok, I might have gained 1 or 2 kgs … Alibi, the Club Lounge, the Pool bar and the cupcakes and pineapple buns in my room … next time, because there will be in the next time, I might want to check out the fitness center !
