Tried and tested: the tech-powered Icoone treatment at Sense of Touch
Words by Aude Camus

I’ve never been big on New Year’s resolutions. There’s something about the “new year, new you” mantra that feels more pressure-filled than inspiring. Besides, if you want to make a change, why wait for 1 January? But there are two habits I do try to embrace every January. First, a (mostly) Dry January - a valiant effort to recover from December’s indulgence of food, wine, and Champagne. Second, I promise myself I’ll prioritise health and wellness beyond my already consistent fitness routine.

While I rarely manage to stick to it, this little vow gives me the perfect excuse to indulge in luxurious spa treatments or try the latest buzzworthy tech. Enter Icoone: a cutting-edge wellness treatment I’ve been dying to try ever since it became a sensation in Paris. Now that Sense of Touch has brought it to Hong Kong, I jumped at the chance to crash-test it.

The Tech Behind the Treat

Icoone, developed in Italy, is powered by a patented Multi Micro Alveolar Stimulation (MMAS) technology. Translation? It delivers up to 21,600 microstimulations per minute, working deep into the skin and subcutaneous tissue. Think of it as a high-tech workout for your skin - firming, toning, and rejuvenating - all while you lie back and let the machine do its magic.

From tackling wrinkles and cellulite to boosting circulation and aiding post-surgery recovery, Icoone is as versatile as it is effective. It’s perfect for anyone looking to sculpt, lift, or simply feel better in their skin.

The Experience

My session took place at Sense of Touch’s Central location - where you'll find Hong Kong's only Icoone machine. After a quick consultation, I slipped into a special overall that you wear during the treatment. Think of it as a snug, semi-sheer bodysuit—not exactly fashion-forward, but surprisingly comfortable.
The machine itself resembles a futuristic octopus, complete with robotic arms. It’s a little intimidating at first, but any nerves quickly dissipate. The sensation varies depending on the area being treated. Some parts feel like a soothing massage, while others - hello, swollen lymph nodes- are slightly more intense. But the discomfort is entirely manageable, and there’s an odd sense of satisfaction in knowing it’s working.

The Results

Post-treatment, I felt lighter, more toned, and genuinely refreshed. It’s one of those treatments where you see and feel the difference almost immediately, but the real magic happens with repeated sessions.

The Verdict

If your goal this year is to feel good rather than reinvent yourself, the Icoone treatment at Sense of Touch is the perfect place to start. For an added boost, I paired my session with an Infrared Sauna treatment. Unlike a traditional sauna, which can leave you overheated and dehydrated, infrared wavelengths gently heat the body from within, promoting detoxification, cell rejuvenation, and improved circulation.
For anyone concerned with circulation or simply craving a wellness upgrade, Icoone is worth every second - and dare I say, every little pinch.
