And Art Week is on!
Are you ready for it? If not, you still have time to have a look at our Insider Guide on how to work the Art Fairs but hurry -up guys, things are just about to kick-off!

Art Central : March 27 to 31
Art Basel : March 29 to 31

Which one to attend? Well, we will be visiting both anyway, but we got a hint this year we are going to love Art Central and here are 3 non-art related reasons why.

1. Art Central throws the best opening party: Mumm Harbour Party (Wednesday March 27)

You though Art Fairs were only about art? God, it’s way more than that! Art Week is a time to see and to be seen and events and parties are aplenty but the most anticipated one definitely is the Mumm Harbour Party at Art Central.

Last year, the party gathered no less than 700 invitees enjoying art and music performances with a free-flow G.H. Mumm Champagne.

We can’t wait for this year Mumm extravaganza on the harbourfront. Think Mumm Grand Cordon Champagne, international DJs, champagne sabrage …

2. Arts Centrals welcomes booths from partner brands Swarovski and diptyque

We love it that Art Central also open its doors to luxury and lifestyle partners and this year two booths are definitely on our to check-list: Swarovski and diptyque.

Swarovski is presenting “Shades in Ascent”, an immersive installation by Hong Kong architect, interior and product designer Steve Leung. The installation discovers the tranquil dimension of an ancient oriental village, where endless floating lanterns infuse the space with suffused light, defining an ethereal ambience that celebrates the beauty of Chinese traditional arts. A meticulous selection of Swarovski crystal beads have been put together to create the lantern series, generating a mesmerising blaze. Flowing Shan Shui landscape images are projected on the floor recalling Chinese natural scenery and giving a final poetic touch to this enchanting journey. Magical!

diptyque is joining Art Central for the first time with an installation inviting us to revisit the world of fragrance and indulge in authentic luxury.

3. Art Central presents SCARPETTA by Chef Daniele Sperindio, a bespoke pop-up restaurant

3 non-art related reasons why we will prefer Art Central to Art Basel this year
Art Fairs are a serious thing. The kind of thing you dress-up to go to. Definitely not the kind of place where you wanna eat traditional “fair food” (think sandwiches) and we can’t wait to visit SCARPETTA and try the contemporary Italian menu from chef Daniele Sperindio.

Egg-based fresh tagliatelle pasta served with mud crab and Thai red curry or pachcheri pasta served with blue foot mushrooms, stilton cheese and balsamic … what a very yummy excuse to visit Art Central!
