Everytime we climb up Aberdeen Street, the terrace makes us dream, we just want to stop and sit. Either on the ground or in 1st floor, its quiet atmosphere, its birds-eye view, right in the middle of Soho, with PMQ pop-up stores on one side and the lawn on the other make it the perfect place! The interior is just as nice as the outside. Wood, glass and transparency everywhere. This has stayed the same, so much the better.
However, what has really changed is the menu. Chef Chris Whitmore, still as friendly and smily, has done a real makeover. Forget about the difference between downstairs (casual bar and simple dishes) and upstairs (fine-dining). Now it is the same everywhere. Dishes are simple but refined with high-quality products and affordable prices. They call it: Modern British Cuisine. Personnally I did not think I could recommend British Cuisine one day! The grilled steaks and their french fries are just delicious. You can consider it as a whole meal. But then you would have to come back for the whole lobster, the roasted seabass and clams, the risotto of cepes or the roasted lamb loin. Impossible to tell which one is the winner. Deserts are still so irresistible. So are their cocktails.
Bravo to the entire team for this successful change! A team which stays as welcoming and friendly as before.
