I am French, cannot hold it. I love fresh bread. I love it even more with butter on it. And even even more if you add a touch of jam or chestnut cream. I love my breakfast to be very bready. But that’s not very Hong Kong style …
Lucky me … Le Pain Quotidien, Belgium (no it is not French) bakery and restaurant just landed in Hong Kong. What time is it? Breakfast time! Also works with brunch, lunch, afternoon snack … It’s always the right time for fresh baked bread!
The place is just like Le Pain Quotidien I used to go to in France. Love it! Makes me feel home.
What to eat … Organic eggs - choose your style? Or maybe one of the botanical aka veggie options? Tartines are definitely a good choice, I like the avocado and spicy shrimps one. But the specialties are worth the try also. I am deeply addicted to the organic vegetable pot au feu, the ultimate comfort food dish. Nah, today I’ll go for one of the breakfast and brunch platters. I need my fix of bread.
A croissant (or a pain au chocolat), 5 slices of organic bread, an egg, ham and cheese, a duo of mustard and a granola parfait., what else could a breakfast lover ask for? Oh yes, the jams are on the table and the homemade Nutella is … crazylicious. Oh yes you are right. A coffee would be much appreciated. One cappuccino please!
You know what Le Pain Quotidien means? Daily bread … Well that is a perfect name because I could definitely come here every day.
