Le Dôme de Cristal : the co-branded Cristal restaurant opens at Galleria
Since we're here to serve all tastes and all different sized wallets, our topic today is Central's newest super  fancy restaurant: Le Dôme de Cristal. Yes, that's Cristal as in Cristal champagne…! This is a world first: the champagne producer Louis Roederer has partnered with Ambrosia Cuisines Group to open this latest restaurant. It didn't take much to convince us to try it out! We fought pretty hard to get a table on the opening night, so that we could report back to you as soon as possible. Our verdict? Incredible food, an extraordinary collection in the cellar and a slightly surprising venue! With regards to the venue, we have to say that it wasn't exactly our cup of tea (a bit pompous for our taste), but nevertheless, 'Le dôme' certainly got our attention (just like the playlist which does not really suit the style of the place!) Anyway, enough about that, let's talk about the things that really matter: the food! You can opt for the tasting menu with the selection of wines/ champagnes recommended sommelier, but we preferred to go « à la carte ». It's been a seriously long time since we've tasted food as good as this. The foie gras is to die for, likewise the Alaska crab served with caviar. For the main dishes: the lamb  with morel mushrooms cream and served with a gratin was a favourite among all of us. The linguine with red Sicilian shrimps and caviar was excellent - and plentiful too. To end in style, be sure to order the Valrhona chocolate and wasabi dome which is both delicious and surprising at the same time! Of course it's essential to wash down your meal with Roederer champagne (21 to choose from!) and wine. And if you want to dream a little, just stand in front of the wine cellar on the way in and see the incredible collection of bottles! So let the good times begin...!

2 valrhona dome – 2 x 158 HKD
1 champagne caviar peach mousse – 188 HKD
1 William pear tart – 148 HKD
...and of course : 1 Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2007 - 1,980 HKD
