This is our latest favourite food destination! After hearing so much about it from other people, it was about time we went to find out for ourselves. Our verdict? Very playful and satisfying…!
The interiors are all red and black with pin up posters showing flirty smiles and flashes of skin; a retro feel with a touch of kitch! The atmosphere is sensual without being erotic…except for perhaps the somewhat ‘original’ décor in the men’s toilets…and the restaurant logo which also speaks volumes…!
But we’ll move onto more serious food stuff because from a culinary point of view, Strip House is no laughing matter. We went for one of the specials- a meat dish - and how special it was! The Wagyu Fiorentina on the bones is a pure delicacy! We loved the Wagyu Hanger Steak too- it was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth. And we haven’t even mentioned the sauces yet; we tried the pepper and the béarnaise which were really good. We weren’t sure which sides to go for, so we ordered a bit of everything (you have to try to know, right?!) We’ll give a special mention for the “Kick Ass Mac & Cheese (which did exactly what it said), and the Black Truffle Mash (to die for). On a dessert level, we completely finished ourselves off with the Crispy Oreo Cookie Fritters- sooo good, (but terrible for your hips) and the Warm Lemon Cake “The Best You Ever Had”(which did the name justice). The wine list at Strip House is pretty good too, so, all in all it’s a great place for an absolutely delicious dinner. Yum!
