I do so many tastings that whenever I’m not invited somewhere I’m on the look for a healthy option preferably in Soho/Sheung Wan where I live and work. Can’t indulge all the time and have to find a balance. And one place I would have never think of considering for a healthy break is Staunton’s Wine Bar & Café. You know, the iconic bar on the corner of Staunton Street (the one where you always have bunches of people gathering for a beer or two after work and on weekends). Well, you’ll be surprised to hear than they just released a new menu which includes seriously good vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free option.
In the mood for a healthy break? Up to the nice terrace on first floor you go.
I seriously recommend the Big Vegan Bowl(HKD 148) which could also be easily named Bowl of goodness: a perfectly seasoned bowl of quinoa, pumpkin, chickpeas, carrot, red cabbage, baby spinach, avocado and hummus. Who knows healthy could be that yummy?
Other yummy options are the Moroccan Spice Cauliflower Bites(HKD 48) topped with home-made turmeric yoghurt dressing or the Baked Eggplant(HKD 118) mixed with chopped kale, quinoa, diced red bell peppers, cucumbers and pomegranate.
Wanna play it veggie but still have that feeling of pornfood? Why not try the Veggie Burger(HKD 148) made of eggplant, onions, chick peas, bell peppers, cilantro, bred crumbs and pine nuts.
And if you feel like you’ll be needed some extra proteins, the Roasted Chicken Gran Bowl (HKD 138) is a great idea.
Well, Staunton’s it was the first time for you seeing me but definitely not the last one!
