Temperatures are (subtly) cooling, humidity is dropping, festive season is upon us and I am definitely in the mood for cocooning. Aren’t you? No matter the season, I do love treating myself to a bit of pampering and me-time but as summer turns to autumn I feel like I have even more excuses to cozy up. Speaking of treating oneself, The Peninsula Spa just launched five new exclusive treatments with acclaimed skincare and bodycare brand Margy’s Monte Carlo making it the ultimate retreat for anyone looking to get snugly this autumn/winter.
Stepping into The Peninsula lobby always makes me happy. I just love the old school luxury charm of this elegant hotel. I heard many times that The Peninsula Spa was one of the best hotels spas in Hong Kong and I thought it was about time I go and check that by myself. So here I am, in the elevator taking me to 7/F.

A warm welcome and a soothing cup of ginger tea later and I’m ready for a little tour of the facilities: steam room, sauna and aromatherapy shower, all overlooking the Victoria Harbour. The team encourages you to arrive at least 60 min before your treatment to unwind, relax and make the most of those facilities and believe me, you do want and give them a go. But today I won’t as I am lucky enough to be taken to the exclusive Private Spa Suite for two where I can enjoy my very own facilities including steam and whirpool bath overlooking sweeping views of the Victoria Harbour.
God, that bath itself already feels like heaven and my Margy’s Monte Carlo treatment hasn’t even started yet. Willing to give a go to Margy’s advanced line of products? You’ll have to choose between two facials and three body treatments. What are you looking for?
Tranquility and harmony for your body and mind? The Beauty Scrub Relaxer (HKD 1,820 for 60 min) blending dead sea salt, oligo-elements and volcanic pumice stones will provide you a deeply reviving cleansing experience. The Stem Cells Revitalising Facial (HKD 3,5000 for 90 min) is a unique treatment combining highly active illuminating serum, emulsion and stem cells collagen mask which leaves your skin intensively hydrated and radiant. I opted for this facial and basically spent 90 min in heaven, unwinding so easily that I even felt asleep (oups) while the concentrated blend of Swiss apple stem cell extracts was working its magic on my skin to make it look more radiant.
Looking for some glamour and willing to put on your red-carpet-ready glow for a special occasion? The Collagen Firming Body Treatment (HKD 2,015 for 60 min) uses invigorating massage techniques to stimulate circulation and reduce puffiness with deep hydration to the skin. Who’s going to look fabulous in her Christmas or New Year’s Eve outfit?
And if you are looking for performance to get your body and complexion in shape then you could go for a Skin Brightening Facial (HKD 2,080 for 60 min) or a Signature Anti-Cellulite Massage (HKD 1,820 for 60 min / HKD 2,470 for 90 min). The last one features the highest concentration level of collagen allowed for consumer skincare products combined with deep, invigorating massage techniques. It stimulates circulation and the lymphatic system to detoxify the body.
But no matter which of these five treatments you choose to go for, one thing you know for sure is that you are in for the ultimate wellness break.
Not willing to leave the spa yet? Why don’t you indulge and treat yourself to a nice break by the pool? This is where you’ll find me if anyone’s looking for me this afternoon.
