BiZou, the American Brasserie in Pacific Place

BiZou – surprising name right? With an “s” it means kiss in French!  Not a real connection with the restaurant but finally after tasting it, I can imagine a poetic one! ;)

The menu features a seriously balanced menu of flavors and textures created by Michelin-starred chef Magnus Hansson. Master bread maker (woop woop!), professional pastry chef and chocolatier, he brings his famous food concepts with fresh ingredients and colorful cuisine.

So what do we eat?
I have started with the amazing Grilled Octopus (HK$158) – my crush! It is tender and tasty. Some more please!
The Fried Camembert (HK$148) is definitely not a light option, but so comfy!
The Pan Roasted Beets Salad (HK$108) is also on my top – avocado, beetroot, toasted crushed hazelnuts, horseradish, mint, green chili and lemon zest. A colorful and flavoring combination that I have loved so much!
The mains are divided into four categories: red meat, chicken, fish and pasta.

Meat lover, go for the Aged Grass-fed Filed served with red miso butter (HK$288/170g). Ask it rare to enjoy the tenderness and the quality of the meat.
The organic roasted chicken (HK$248) is also a must try – a madeleine de Proust like a Sunday family lunch in France!
And how could I resist to pastas? The Pappardelle al Ragu with Beef Short Ribs (HK$188) is delicious even if I am myself not a big fan of ragu style meat.

You can also order sides to pair with your meat. The side of kale (HK$58) is so good. Can I have the recipe chef? :)
The cauliflower puree (HK$68) is served as a crème brulee. I was honestly not a big fan, but I not a cauliflower person so...
The classic Potatoes with lemon and chipolte Aioli (HK$68) are perfect with the meat or the chicken.

Finally, as Chef Hansson is a professional pastry-maker, it would be a shame not to try the desserts. The Almond Apple Cake with cardamom ice cream (HK$78) brings to directly to New York City. The Butter Scotch Budino with Salted Caramel and Sesame Cookies (HK$78) is also very good but strong. Make sure you are sharing!

In a nutshell, BiZou is a really cool place with happiness in the plate. You will forget you are inside Pacific Make as the design of the restaurant with walnut-wood makes intimacy.
A really cool place for lunch or dinner, before or after a cinema/ shopping session.
