After Townhouse we decided to go and check what was happening over at Ore-no Kappou, the Japanese restaurant in LKF’s brand new building, California Tower. On the 6th floor, you enter a whole new universe made of wood & lacquer and other traditional Japanese material. Chic and modern, we love it. It’s the first establishment outside Japan by the famous Oreno Corporation, and they went all out: Hidetsugu Okamoto, Michelin 2 starred chef of “Ginza OKAMOTO” will work in close partnership with the director and executive chef of the Ore-no Kappou chain in Japan. Rest assured, prices are quite reasonable. To see the Chef at work, choose to watch standing (stand-up eating customer available at lunchtime) or take a seat at the counter. If you’re a party of three or more one of the tables in the main room will do perfectly. There’s also a private room you can book with a very cool origami like sealing. That’s where we settled down to taste all their different signature dishes. We’d recommend the okra with sesame sauce, the melt-in-your- mouth sashimi, the grilled lobster with sea urchin sauce and the wagyu beef served on a lava stone. As for drinks, the sake list is longer than the wine list. We’ll let you decide what you feel like with your meal. Kampaï!
