Little Creatures! How sweet is that name?
Originally from Western Australia, Little Creatures is a brewery and restaurant. They have opened the first Hong Kong based Little Creatures in Kennedy Town and lucky me, I have been invited to discover it.
For your record, the name was inspired by the live yeast that work so hard to create Little Creatures beers.
Arriving on the waterfront, you will be as surprised as I was when entering. Formerly used as a sugar and flour warehouse, the space is HUGE and industrial with its high celling, the microbrewery and the bar at the entrance and the open kitchen.
I have started with a ‘tasting paddle’ – for 100$ you will get six sample sips of the brewery’s top creations. The lovely staff will give you the keys to enjoy your tasting experience starting with fruity Bright Ale, but also the House Brew (my favorite!), the smooth Roger’s Amber Ale or the Belgium White Rabbit White Ale.
A lovely way to discover beer if you are like I am – a total craft beer rookie!
After the beer, let’s try food. Very traditional smash avocado (I can’t get enough!) with tortillas and yummy crispy chicken to start. Some corn on the cob and very simple and tasty bruschettas. For the healthy touch, I have tried the Kale pizza – was very nice and surprising – should I mention I had 3 slices?
I could not leave without trying desserts. Plus the names caught my attention: “Cider Green Apples” which is a delicious crumble with mascarpone and then mini cookies with ice cream (okay, this one was obvious but who could resist cookies with ice cream?).
It’s definitely not diet friendly…but they also have salads! ;)
The food menu is quite impressive offering lots of choice with reasonable prices – I suggest to share.
The big tables are definitely a spot for family and big groups. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff friendly.
Noted that they are open for breakfast from 8am every morning Monday to Friday and brunch on the weekends.
