Lush, we have known of the brand for a while now and have always been great fans of its soaps to be cut, their vanilla, caramel and raspberry shampoos... So when we learned of the opening of its new spa right in the heart of Mid-Levels, we ran!
Hard Days Night, The Good Hours, The Planets... Just like the names given to its cosmetics, the labels on the spa’s service offering are equally evocative. I opted for the Synesthaesia massage.
Lost ? A search on Wikipedia will give you an idea of what is Synesthaesia. It is when senses are mixed: this smell reminds you a color, this cound has a special taste.... And there are simply no words to describe the experience (joy, assurance, calm, vitality...). It was like no other, with essential oils specifically chosen for you used during the treatment and relaxing music in the background.
On arrival, I was asked to fill out a short questionnaire and then ushered into a vintage-style decorated pantry where I was offered a delicious and fresh lemon drink. In the massage room, I continued my journey back into time: Lovely antique bath, wooden furniture and porcelain sinks. Then the essential oils and music suffused slowly into the air, so relaxing, titillating all my senses, and transporting me to heaven. It was difficult to stand up afterwards.
Luckily, the arduous effort of getting up was tempered with the sweetness of a lovely cup of tea. Thank you Lush!
