The Verandah: Just like in the South of France…

The Verandah: Just like in the South of France…
The clocks stopped… A bit like in the famous song from French singer Nino Ferrer except that we were actually transported to the South… of the island! Our lunch at Verandah was so delightful! If Hong Kong and its never ending skyline of buildings tend to get on your nerves, head over to this restaurant in Repulse Bay. Palm trees, an incredible sea view, a luxurious setting and fine dining. We didn’t want to leave! But we had to, given the time. Yes, because the problem is that the clocks literally stop ticking when you’re there. It’s the ideal place for catching up, delightful food and breath-taking views. Forget about your day-to-day hassles and urgencies! We opted for the set lunch in order to taste a maximum of dishes. The appetizer buffet was amazing. Help yourself with your eyes closed, there’s no chance you’ll be disappointed. The soup that followed wasn’t a must but we just couldn’t resist the temptation! As for the main course, we opted for the lamb kebab (or rather skewers) and chips for one; and grilled salmon served with fennel salad and feta cheese for the other. Excellent! We thought we’d still have space left for the dessert buffet but unfortunately we’d overestimated our appetite. It will be a good excuse to come back! Maybe on an evening this time round…? This place must be amazing by night! Now having said all of that, the bill was rather steep. So give us the chance to save up and we’ll keep you posted!
