Biotiful pampering

May 14th 2018

Getting pampered is something we pretty much all love. Am I correct? And it’s just so easy to get a nice haircut, a quick mani-pedi or a relaxing massage here in Hong Kong. What’s less easy is when you are, just like me, an organic addict. So I’ve be out on the look for nice places that are using organic products and still delivering great results and I am happy to share my fav addresses with you.

My fav facial:Panacée at Emmanuel f.

More than just a facial, Emmanuel f.  is offering you a rejuvenating session.  In Greek mythology, Panacée means “the cure to everything” and for Phyt’s, the brand behind the range of products, it’s all about rejuvenating, re-firming, brightening and illuminating while reducing your wrinkles and treating your pores. A dream come true! Being a big fan of Emmanuel f. and the organic brands they use plus a dreamer, I definitely needed to give a go to this facial.

A little more about Panacée products: it took 7 years of researches and tests for Phyt’s to finally came up with the ideal formula and launch this unique premium organic cream (believe me, you won’t see a lot of those on the market). Several perfumers have also been working on developing a unique and 100% natural scent mixing jasmine and mimosa. As for the anti-aging supplements I won’t name them all but edelweiss, tensor rye or acmella are some of them.

But back to the facial … it all starts with a personalised dermatological check-up so that your therapist can fully customized the treatment.  And then it’s on! Starting with the most relaxing and divine back massage. Followed by face cleansing, scrub, serum, mask … can’t describe it all, I was enjoying it too much to remember everything and have rather decide to let go and fully relax. Those 75 min are pure bliss. Not to mention the impressive result! Look at that smooth and fresh skin!

A 100% organic haircut: Love Hair

Love Hair  was founded 2 years ago by Toni. After working many years in hairdressing salons and using toxic products each and every day, she developed a rare poisoning. There was no way she would continue on poisoning her body like this.

At Love Hair you won’t find any parabens, any ammoniac, any sulphates or any colouring agents neither in the haircare products nor in the cleaning products. And seems like Toni is not the only one who needed to say stop to health poisoning because her salon is always fully booked (nothing surpising knowing that on top on taking care of your health she and her team deliver great service). Oh and the drinks also are organics and she recycles water, paper and plastics.

Shampoo/ haircut/ blow-dry: from HKD 600 to HKD 1,300 depending on the hair stylist

My aromatherapy massage: Sovos

Hester is absolutely passionate about her job as aromatherapist and always willing to further explore alternative medicines. After years of traveling the world and searching for the best essential oils she decided to launch her brand, products using only 100% natural oils: Sovos. Few years later, it’s time for her husband Jonathan to get on board this beautiful adventure, after years of working in the finance industry.

They just opened a spa in the heart of LKF where they deliver 100% customized treatment using their beautiful and 100% chemical free products. One cabin only, a therapist who is listening to your needs (insomnia, stress, digestive troubles, asthma …) in order to create a personalized blend for your treatment and a massage that ends with your personalized blend being given to you … divine. They also do personalised skincare or body products.

My detoxifying treatment: BEYORG N°8 Organic Spa

BEYORG N°8 Organic Spa ’s brand new treatment is all about detoxifying your body before summer. Just what the doctor ordered now? I mean quick unhealthy lunches, coffees with friends and colleagues, dinners … a little detox could be useful.

Treatment uses Amala and Primavera oils, 100% organic just like all the products at Beyorg. Amala is a citrus blend aiming at detoxifying. Primavera is a beautiful blend of eucalyptus and tea tree used for its antibacterial power. A quite dynamic massage but in a good way as you’ll leave the place energized and ready to deal with noise, pollution and crowd.

Mani/pedi: The Nail Library

The Nail Library is not the easiest place to find being hidden in a tiny little street of Wan Chai and nested on second floor but you’ll love this trendy cocoon and its 60’s vibes.

There are so many nail polishes on the shelves, you’ll be facing a tough time choosing the right colour but I definitely recommend going for one from Kure Bazaar. This eco-friendly brand is not tested on animals and uses cotton, corn and wheat for its bases resulting in 85% organic products yet with perfect lasting. Just let go and enjoy your ginger tea.
