Here’s an address, which will make you become monomaniac about Chinese cuisine! Monogamous Chinese, a new restaurant in Soho, offers a rich menu of dishes coming from Sichuan. Brace yourself; your meal is going to be spicy! First of all, let’s start with the decor since it catches your eyes as soon as you walk in. The subdued lighting and cozy setting are surprising. A mixture of historical and cultural references with a touch of vintage and another touch of modernity. A huge Mao portrait, lanterns, an old (it looks like it anyway!) chandelier, a selection of more modern paintings. Retro-chic in all its glory. Let’s talk food now! We tested the set lunch, which is very substantial: a starter, a dish of homemade noodles and dumplings; for only HKD88! We recommend the noodles served in a spicy peanut sauce (soup!). Delicious! To continue on a strong note, opt for the spicy pork and cabbage steamed dumplings. Careful, you will feel pretty hot for a bit! Otherwise the vegetable ones are good too! You can also order Peking duck. But no room for improvisation there, you have to book at least a day in advance. Apparently the garlic and salt fried tofu is wonderful. How about you go and check out this address to tell us more about it!
