BRIOGEO – BE GENTLE, BE KINDTM AVOCADO + QUINOA CO-WASH

January beauty hits
I am still not done wandering around the shelves of Sephora Hong Kong (click here to rediscover my 10 fav finds at newly opened Sephora Hong Kong), probably spending way more money than I should in beauty products and moreover in haircare products. Told you already … I have this thing with my hair. I know, I know, that may seem highly superficial but I’m obsessed with my hair and struggling with them daily.

God why can’t I have straight hair? F***k me, why can’t I have beautiful curly hair? I think I should let my hair grow long again. Shit, I wanna chop it off and rock a nice short haircut. I love my polar blonde but shouldn’t I try and see how would I look as a brunette? …

This wash gently yet effectively rids hair of dirt, oil and buildup. It’s nothing like your usual shampoo, it doesn’t lather but slips on your hair. The first few washes can be quite confusing: am I using it correctly? Am I putting enough/too much product? Is it really washing my hair? But once you get use to the non-lathering, high-slip formula and see how it cleans your hair without stripping or tangling, you’ll love it.

Cherry on the cake: it’s cruelty-free, gluten-free, silicones-free, sulfates-free, parabens-free, vegan and 98% naturally-derived.

HKD 250
Available at Sephora Hong Kong, in stores (ifc mall and Causeway Bay) and online

L’OCCITANE EN PROVENCE x PIERRE HERMÉ PARIS – LIMITED EDITION

January beauty hits
Oliver Baussan, founder of French beauty brand L’Occitane en Provence, has invited his friend Pierre Hermé, worldwide-known pastry chef, to compose a limited edition of scents for the brands. Loving Hermé’s macarons (my absolute favs being the Mogador – milk chocolate & passion fruit – and the Ispahan – rose & lychee) and L’Occitane’s made in Provence products (Haven’t yet visited the Spa L’Occitane in Hong Kong? You might wanna give it a go, we do like this haven of peace in the heart of busy Wan Chai) and always looking for a good excuse to add new beauty products to my bathroom shelves, I had to give it a go.

Three scents have been imagined by the “Picasso of Pastry” drawing inspiration from the lands of Mediterranean.

The Jasmin, Immortelle and Neroli collection (Eau de Toilette, Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Hand Cream) is sensual but light. The Pamplemousse and Rhubarbe collection Eau de Toilette, Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Hand Cream is fizzy, soft and summery and the Miel and Mandarine collection (Hand Cream) is sweet and comforting, reminding you of Golden Honey crystallized on an un-drenched slice of Mandarin orange.

Hong Kong Madame’s favs: the Miel Mandarin Hand Cream (HKD 85) made with L’Occitane’s signature shea butter that nourishes and soften the hands and diffusing an exquisite scent. The Jasmin, Immortelle and Neroli Body Lotion (HKD 250) with its light texture (perfect for Hong Kong’s humidity) and lingering, luminous and sensual notes.

Limited edition, available for a limited period of time.
Available in L’Occitane Hong Kong shops and online.

ATELIER COLOGNE – SANTAL CARMIN LUNAR NEW YEAR LIMITED EDITION

January beauty hits
It’s not a secret anymore, I love Atelier Cologne and its always chic Colognes. And if I sometimes find Lunar New Year limited editions to be a bit kitsch, I do like the elegance of this red bottle adorned and embossed with a handcrafted golden lotus flower. But again, I’m not surprise about this chic and elegant design coming from a brand which offers you to dress-up your perfume bottles in the chicest engraved leather cases.

What about the fragrance? Santa Carmin is a soft smoky scent carrying fresh notes of bergamot from Italy contrasted by spicy notes of sandalwood from Australia. It has this unique citrusy Cologne touch and is very charismatic. Just like the other Atelier Cologne’s perfumes that I own (and I do own a few! Told you I love the brand), it’s effortlessly chic and my boyfriend also loves to borrow it from me.

HKD 1,870 for the Atelier Cologne Santal Carmin Limited Edition (100 ml)
