Our Top 5 cookies in Hong Kong

With all the food tastings I am doing, you would think that I would go easy on the food whenever I’m not “working”/invited to a media tasting. Well, sorry to disappoint you but that’s not the case. Whatever I do, no matter where I am and whatever the time of the day, I’m always thinking “what am I gonna eat next?”, “where to find the yummiest things?”, “which restaurant haven’t I tried yet?” … Something I absolutely love to do on my spare time (even though being an entrepreneur and your own boss actually means never really having any spare time) is creating lists of where to find my favs of something I love eating. Remember my Top 5 avocado-toasts in Hong Kong ? Well, lately I’ve been busy eating my weight in cookies in order to come-up with my 5 fav places where to buy one of these round, little pornfood treats.

(by alphabetical order

1. Bakehouse

Our Top 5 cookies in Hong Kong
My passion for all the pornfood treats Grégoire Michaud serves and sells at Bakehouse has no limits (here is my write-up on Bakehouse, published for the opening of the place in 2018). But how come he even successes in making a better cookie than everyone else?

Chewy or crispy: chewy in the middle but with crispy outer edges
Madame’s fav cookie: double chocolate chip cookie

14 Tai Wong Street East – Wan Chai

2. Beef & Liberty

Our Top 5 cookies in Hong Kong
Beef & Liberty being a restaurant, this is not the kind of cookie you’ll be able to order takeaway but more of a dessert. Actually, not just a dessert, the best cookie skillet in town: a hot, chewy, freshly baked cookie with melted chocolate heart and served with hot, sweet cream. The perfect sweet ending to a yummy meal at B&F.

3/F, California Tower, 30-32 D’Aguilar Street – LKF

3. Cookie Boy

Our Top 5 cookies in Hong Kong
Cookies made just like you would at home … but an even better version of it.

Chewy or crispy: chewy with that perfect slight crisp on the outside
Madame’s fav cookie: the Peanut Butter Cookie, that little thing is so good!

Order online (by 5 pm for next day delivery on weekdays)

4. Cookie Department

Our Top 5 cookies in Hong Kong
Calling all the cookies lovers out there: the cookies from Cookie Department are like massive! And they are also crazy yummy.

Chewy or crispy: chewy, like super chewy, but again with a soft crisp on the outside
Madame’s fav cookie: Brownie Filled – a chewy brownie filled chocolate chip cookie

Smaller version of their cookies is available at a few stockists around town but I like to order my babies directly through their Instagram via direct message

5. Levain Bakery

Levain Bakery Hong Kong has nothing to do with its NYC homonym but knowing that the NYC brand is worldwide famous for its cookies, I saw it has a sign and thought I definitely had to try Levain Bakery’s Hong Kong cookies. That was a brilliant idea!

Chewy or crispy: chewy
Madame’s fav cookie: double chocolate cookie, so so good, but I also sometimes go for an oatmeal and raisin one, less pornfood but not less yummy

Shop A, G.F, Tung Sing Building, 138-144 Queen’s Road East – Wan Chai
Shop B, 87 Caine Road – Mid Levels
Block B, Unit H105, PMQ, 35 Aberdeen Street – Central
